Swap Meet Safety
Swap Meet is for free, useful items shared among TFU members within 22 miles. It is designed for local kindness—not shipping, resale pressure or unsafe exchanges.
Before offering an item
- Offer only items you own and can legally give away.
- List items honestly as great, excellent or like-new condition.
- Disclose damage, missing parts, recalls, hygiene concerns or safety limitations.
- Remove personal data from phones, computers and storage devices.
- Do not list medicine, weapons, recalled goods, hazardous materials, alcohol, tobacco or illegal items.
Meeting safely
- Meet during daylight in a public, well-lit location whenever possible.
- Tell someone where you are going and bring another adult when appropriate.
- Do not enter a stranger’s home or share your exact home address until you are comfortable and pickup truly requires it.
- Keep early communication inside TribeTight and never send money for a free item.
- Leave immediately and report the interaction if anything feels unsafe.
Location privacy
Swap Meet uses location only to determine whether members are within the 22-mile exchange radius. Exact coordinates should not be displayed publicly.
Responsibility
The item owner and recipient arrange pickup and inspect the item themselves. TFU does not guarantee condition, safety or suitability. Members should follow manufacturer guidance and applicable law.
